Lucie Oriol is a INSERM Research Associate specializing in central nervous system disorders. She completed her PhD at the University of California, San Diego, where she focused on cellular diversity and connectivity of neurons in the ventral tegmental area, examining local versus distal synaptic targets of GABA and glutamate neurons to refine our understanding of how heterogeneous circuits contribute to reward, motivation, and related behaviors. Her current work focuses on understanding the interplay between epilepsy and stress, combining fiber-photometry, electrophysiology, and behavioral research approaches. Lucie has a strong background in cellular and circuit-level neuroscience, microscopy, and project coordination, and is passionate about applying rigorous science to uncover novel insights into neurological diseases.
